Back Up Power, LLC is a locally owned and operated business in Alleghany County, VA by James and Stacey Bryant. We specialize in the sales, service and installation of Standby Generators for home and business. James has a 4 year Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Master Electricians License, Class A Contractors license and 30+ years of experience in the electrical industry. The business goal is to offer complete ‘turn key’ generator systems based on the customers needs. Our focus is generators, back up power systems and associated work. Assessments and quotes are free for those in Alleghany County and nearby areas within about a 60 mile radius. Those further away will incur a nominal fee which is reimbursable upon purchase of a system.
Today’s standby generators are a complex system, utilizing onboard circuitry that monitors power, system status, alarms, load shedding, wifi enabled apps, automatic transfer switches, etc. The technician doing the installation, start-up and service needs to have an in-depth understanding of the equipment involved. Once a system is installed, the technician will do a thorough test of the generator and ATS, with the customer, so that they are left with a good understanding of how things operate and what the new system will and will not run.

Installing a home backup generator is an exciting time. Back Up Power, LLC will prepare the installation site outside your home, place the generator, run the natural gas or LP fuel line, install the transfer switch, and make all of the necessary electrical connections. And we will make sure that your backup generator runs properly, and is ready for its first power outage.
